Last fall we announced our brand’s commitment to inclusivity by building partnerships with adaptive organizations and communities. (You can read the blog post HERE.)
Moving forward in this commitment, we partnered with Nike to create an experience that highlights the Nike FlyEase program, focusing on inclusivity and universal design, at the 2022 Special Olympics USA Games in Orlando, FL.
Our partnership with Nike and the 2022 Special Olympic USA Games led us to create the Nike FlyEase x Concepts Athlete Oasis. This custom-designed and accessible space introduced five new lacing technologies to the adaptive community while offering athletes and fans alike a respite from the sensory overload of the Games. Jointly, we provided a FlyEase experience like never before through this elevated programming promoting physical and mental wellbeing. Nike Athlete and NFL player Cam Jordan also joined our efforts, interacting with athletes and fans and sharing what the Special Olympics means to him.
To make a larger impact in the local community, we also donated FlyEase shoes to LIFT, Nathaniel's Hope and Conductive Education Center of Orlando. We spoke about our donation to CECO with local Orlando station WFTV. CECO transforms the lives of children and adults with neurological motor disabilities to achieve their greatest level of independence through conductive education; and integrating physical, cognitive, and social skills. The 2022 Special Olympics USA Games provides inclusive opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities to discover and unleash the champion within, and it was an honor to be part of such a moving and important event. We also appreciate our Nike partners in collaborating with us on this effort to pioneer a new, world-class experience for the adaptive community.
Stay tuned for more from us and our partners as we continue to serve a community that is often overlooked in the exclusive fashion and sneaker spaces with universal design and inclusivity.
